At VLN championship´s second round of the season Alexander Toril was able to repeat his first round´s result. The Spaniard won class «SP7» in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup «BF» of team BLACK FALCON TMD Friction and celebrated his second win in a row.
«We’re really happy with the result. The weather conditions gave us a hard challenge and we worked hard to achieve it, but in the end it was a great race», said Toril after the chequered flag had fallen at 41st DMV-4-h-race. «My Team BLACK FALCON TMD Friction made a fantastic job, as well as my teammate Tim Scheerbarth. The second win is a great starting position for the fight for the championship.»
During the qualifying on Saturday morning, the 25 kilometer long combination of Grand Prix track and the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife slowly dried up after a rain shower hit the circuit as the sun rose. Scheerbarth got in the car for the first half of the qualifying and was confronted with a fully wet track, before Toril took over the wheel. As the track was drying up Toril improved lap by lap and managed to drive the quickest lap in class SP7, therefore starting from overall rank 27 and pole-position in class into the four hours distance.
Scheerbarth took responsibility for the start and quickly settled away from the opponents. After a third of the race, Winway-driver Toril got in the Porsche and showed a great performance. During his stint Toril had to deal a temporarily wet track with slick tires thanks to random rain showers but managed to gain seven places coming from 25th overall. The Spanish driver pulled into the pit for the final driver change in 18th position and Scheerbarth finished the last third of the race. Despite of unpredictable weather conditions the duo had great speed and managed to set the fastest lap of the race in their class and finally finished first. Furthermore BLACK FALCON´s number 56 Porsche scored a strong 15th overall finish. For Alexander Toril it was the second hat-trick of pole-position, fastest laptime and class victory in a row.
